District No. 6 School, located on Route 278 at Clum's Corners

Old School District No. 6, located on Route 278 at Clum's Corners. This one-room schoolhouse was built about 1830; it has been known as the Lincoln School, the Rocky Road School, the Clum's Corners School, and the Little Red Schoolhouse. The lady reading her book on the lawn of the school is Minnie Esther Davis, who taught at a number of Brunswick schools over a 50-year period.
New The District No. 6 School is now owned by the Brittonkill School District, and has been preserved through the efforts of groups such as the Taconic-Raymertown Kiwanis and Brunswick Historical Society, and, more recently, the donation of labor and materials by private individuals including Bill Engelke of the Want Ad Digest.
