Clum's Blacksmith Shop, Clum's Corners

Clum's Blacksmith Shop, Clum's Corners. One hundred years ago Brunswickers depended on the horse and wagon for transportation, and there were more blacksmiths in town than there are gas stations today. The blacksmith shod horses, produced iron fittings for wagons, sleighs, and buggies, and often manufactured hardware for the home. |
Gone are the blacksmith shops where Brunswickers traded news and horse stories.Spiak's gas station on Route 7 was opened in 1934, and is the town's longest continually operating station. |
