Pleasant Valley Store, Cropseyville. The moniker "Pleasant Valley" was assigned the eastern portion of the hamlet of Cropseyville when Edward McChesney opened a store by that name there in 1886. The building formerly served as a hotel. In 1905, the business was acquired by Charles Rifenburgh, who later passed its operation to his son Earl. |

The old Pleasant Valley Store also now serves a residence. |
