Morrison Farm, Route 2, Cropseyville
Morrison Farm, Route 2, Cropseyville. The date of this photograph is about 1900. Henry Morrison built this home and started the farm in the 1790s, and three generations of his family lived and farmed here thereafter. |
No one has inhabited the old Morrison farmhouse since about 1941, but the farmland has remained in continuous production. Today, vegetables are organically grown and marketed here. An application to name the farm, now considered an outstanding example of a late 18th-century farm complex, to the National Register of Historic Places is pending. |
