TOWN OF BRUNSWICK Spring/SUMMER 2011 Pick-up Schedule
***The last few years the Highway Dept. has experienced an increase in our monthly cleanup. This seems to be from the misconception that our clean up is also for residents taking down trees on their property. Residents taking down trees should make plans to have the contractor or the resident dispose of the ENTIRE tree or trees. The Spring/Summer cleanup is strictly a tree limb/yard clipping pick-up.***
What Can Be Picked Up:
- Leaves and Grass must be in Biodegradable Paper Bags
- Brush must be piled neatly and separately from Leaves. PLEASE NO STICKS, DIRT, ROCKS OR ANY OTHER MATERIAL IN BAGS - We do NOT use leaf vacuums in the Spring time.
- 8' long - no larger than 6" diameter
- Avoid piling brush near utility poles and under trees, wires, or out in the street. WE DO NOT GO ON PRIVATE PROPERTY.
- CLEAN WOOD ONLY
- Scrap Metal (April pickup only)
- Appliances and tires must be tagged; tags can be purchased at the Town Office
We
will also pick up other yard waste, such as grass clippings, provided biodegradable
paper bags are used. Branches must be free of roots and dirt. We do not pick up rocks, stumps, rubbish, etc. Please do not put theSE items out with your branches. PLEASE NO CLEAR CUTTING OF LOTS. Residents are also encouraged to dispose
of leaves and grass at our Recycling
Center, the area located across from
the
Town offices.
Please
check with Recycling Department prior to drop off.
Items
must be at roadside on the first day of scheduled pickup. In the event
the pick-up runs ahead of schedule, we will move to the next scheduled area
and return to your location before the last scheduled day of your area.
Highway Superintendent Doug Eddy asks:
- Please - make sure you put out material for Spring Cleanup before we come. If you're not sure whether we've done your street, please call our office. If we've already done your street, what you put out will remain there.
- If you use biodegradable bags for material you put out, please protect them from water if they will be out for more than a day or two. Put a tarp under them and cover them with a tarp. Otherwise the bags rot, and it's difficult for our crews to pick them up because they fall apart.

- Area 1 - April 11 thru April 15 - South of Route 2 (including Mountain View area)
- Area 2 - April 18 thru April 22 - North of Route 2 to South of Route 7
- Area 3 - April 25 thru April 29 - North of Route 7 to Schaghticoke Town line
Monthly Brush And Yard Waste Pick-up Schedule:
- May 16 thru May 20
- June 13 thru June 17
- July 11 thru July 14
- August 8 thru August 11
- September 12 thru September 16
- October 11 thru October 14 (last pickup of the season)
